Azheekal Beach is picturesque with fine white sands and clear waters. The best part? You get to see dolphins up close. All you need is the patience to wait. You never know when these friendly creatures show up. One of the lesser-known beaches on the Arabian Sea coast, it is also known as ‘Aazhee’, a confluence of the sea and backwaters. A cluster of tiny islands close to the beach is one of the main attractions at Azheekal. Mangrove forests cover many of the islands. The pulimuttu, a rock formation that protrudes into the sea, is located here. Another preferred beach activity here is kite flying. The presence of Chinese fishing nets adds to the charm of the beach.
